INSTALL / RESTORE
Return to your previous Codex setup.
This guide is a safety checklist, not a claim that every third-party theme uses the same method. Follow the original theme’s documentation first.
Close Codex and stop any helper.
Quit Codex completely. If a third-party theme uses a local helper, CDP session, or launcher, stop it before changing files or settings.
Use the theme’s documented restore action.
A legitimate hosted package should include a restore procedure. Do not delete or alter the Codex application package to remove a visual theme.
Remove only the files you added.
Delete the theme folder, its browser-local configuration, or its helper according to its source documentation. Keep a backup if you are uncertain.
Reopen Codex and verify.
Confirm the workspace loads normally. If it does not, consult the original source’s issue tracker or restore your own backup before trying another theme.
